Christmas Rhyming Poem

Christmas if a time for joy
a time for family
and a time to enjoy
a time for fun
and a time most say yum
Christmas is almost here
a time we've been waiting for all year
when families come together
even though there's often bad weather
Christmas is a time that that's fun for all

Found Poem From: 9/11 Speech by George W. Bush

America
Peace,
Safety,
Justice,
Freedom
Will not be shaken
By the worst
Of human Nature
We will continue
Without interruption
We stand together
To win the war
For those who's lives
Were suddenly ended by evil
Our country is strong
No one will ever forget this day
Yet we will go forward
To defend our freedom and good
No one can keep that light from shining

Tonado

The dark clouds roll in
The rough wind picks up
The clouds start to churn in the sky
Its coming, everybody hides
The dark monster comes out
Dirt and fly into our eyes and mouth
Debris flies around in the damp, humid air
Soon, Mother Earth's job is done
The tornado left its mark of destruction

Name Poem

Rosie
It means friendly, tall, happy
It is the number 2
It is like a creamy, cool color
It is the memory of Bailey Nelson
Who taught me how to have fun and get along with people I don't like
When she told me about her friends back in Florida
My name is Rosie
It means to make the best out of life because you only have one

Acrostic Poem

Calming
Ablaze
Nice
Delightful
Light
Endless
Scent

Motivation Poster

Teamwork is very important. Without it, no one could succeed. Teamworks means using the help offered by others. Whether its working on getting a group project done, or getting the winning point, teamwork is very important. Teamwork is working together so all can succeed. With teamwork, all will succeed. Teamwork happens all the time in the movie. Everyone works together in the movie to get up the mountain. there where many times when someone would fall down and everyone would stop and help them get back up and keep on going. It relates to me because on my volleyball team, we had to set up the ball so someone could get a good kill. The whole team has to work together to get the point. In basketball, there is a lot of passing between the players in order to get the shot.

Freedom Essay

     What Is Freedom?

“I’m proud to be an American, were at least I know I’m free.” What do you think about when you hear the word freedom? When I think of American freedom, I think of the definition, what Martin Luther King had to say about all Americans having equal freedom, and what fallen soldiers have scarified to keep our freedom.
What does Freedom mean? To me, freedom is having the right to stand up for what you believe in. Being able to walk to school without having to worry about getting shot. To go to what church you want to. Freedom isn't just a word. Freedom is a privilege. Freedom has so much meaning that no matter how well someone describes it, there will always be more.
When I think of Martin Luther King, I think of two things. Equal rights, and equal freedom.
Martin Luther fought for American freedom. Maybe not in a war, but he fought just like any other soldier would. He fought for everyone to have equal freedom, so everyone could achieve the American dream that they came here for.
Fallen Soldiers are very important when it comes to American freedom. They represent the price of of freedom. Freedom is not free. Every Soldier was scared either physically or mentally. All soldiers are important and deserve to be thanked. Soldiers, dead and alive alike, are all important to American Freedom because if they didn't fight for us, we wouldn't have our freedom.

The meaning, Martin Luther King, and Fallen Soldiers are all a big part of understanding Freedom. Just remember that freedom is not free, there is a price. That price is paid with courageous men and women who fought for our rights and freedom. So, I challenge you to tell any service member of the military, Thank you for your service. “And I’ll gladly stand up, next to you to defend her still today. Because there isn’t a doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.”

Johnny The Ghost

Have you ever met a ghost? Well, if you go to ONeill Public High school, then you have. Our ghost’s name is Johnny. He’s 15, he's a boy, and he lives in the lockers and hallways. He has black hair, freckles, and he wears an old school uniform( a white button-up shirt with a blue and white checkered sweater vest, a blue tie, black pants, and black dress shoes). He is so pale white that you can barely see any colors. He is tall, about five foot nine inches, and has a low and loud voice. You know he walks past you because there is a sudden stench of dirty old gym socks. He has a small nose so he can't smell how bad he smells and big ears so he hears everything.
Johnny is an mean ghost. When you are trying to get in and out of class, he rips the bottoms out of book bags so all of the contents fall to the ground. Sometimes he will slide everything off your desk. He pulls out chargers from laptops so you have to plug it back in constantly. Every once in a while, Johnny will turn off the bells so know one knows when class is over. When you pass through the hallways, he will jump out and scare you, hide in your lockers and scare you when you open them, and interrupt class with several rude comments.
Johnny is also very funny. He loves to stand on the tables at lunch and tell jokes the whole time and make everyone laugh(even the teachers!). Sometimes when you walk into class, there will be funny jokes or quotes on the board. He will make cell phones go off with some of the funniest ringtones and when you don’t answer them, he will send you a very funny text.
In the end, Johnny isn't that horrible. He may make your life tuff, but he will also add some fun to it. He defiantly is very unique. He can be a trickster, scary, and funny all at the same time. Johnny is the best ghost I know.

Hogwarts Halloween Feast

         Hogwarts Halloween Feast
By: Rosie English 7 2nd Period

Today is Halloween at Hogwarts. After my classes, I go down to the Great Hall for the feast. The first thing I spot before I even step into the Great Hall are all of the activities outside. I see all the houses competing in pumpkin relays, apple bobbing, scavenger hunts, and pin the tail on the cat.
When I walk into the Great Hall, I greet all of my friends. I see decorations all over the castle: black, orange, and white steamers spiraled on the pillars; confetti scattered on the tables and floor. The center pieces of the table are changed from the usual to sparkly Jack ‘O’ Lanterns. The Lights are dimmed and some of them are colored purple and orange. From the lights fake spider webs and spiders hang down. The ceiling is themed as a starless night with a full moon. At the edge of every table I see masks for everyone. Green for Slytherin, red for Gryffindor, yellow for Hufflepuff and blue for Ravenclaw.
When we all sit down at our tables, the food starts to appear. It all looks so delicious. There are mashed potatoes, pasta, steak, shrimp, bacon, roast beef, corn, and anything else you could think of. Then when we thought we ate all we could eat, dessert conjured. Candy corn, pumpkin pie, sugar cookies, chocolate, caramel apples, and jelly beans in every flavor. I decide to eat a jelly bean and picked  a vomit flavored one. “ Eww!” I said as all my friends laughed at me. To get rid of the disgusting flavor, I drink some pumpkin juice.
When the feast is over, we all go to our common rooms, talk, and have our little parties. Finally we go to bed. Everyone is ecstatic that classes start late the next day.

Nursery Rhyme Rewriten

"Ding, dong, bell..."
Ding, dong, bell,
Kitty's in the well!
Who
deposited her in?
Tiny Tommy Green.
Who
heaved her out?
Enormous Johnny Stout.

What a wayward boy was that,
To drown poor
kitty-cat,
Who never did him any harm,
But
murder the mice in his father's barn!

iAM video

Three things I learned while we were doing the iAM videos are, how to use the new version of iMovie, how to layer sounds and pictures and videos in iMovie, and how to write a story board. Im really glad that my teachers assigned this project. It was a lot of fun.

Dot Day

Today was Dot Day. Dot Day is about a book that was written by Peter Renolds. It explains that if you try and believe in yourself, you will succeed. In one of my other classes, we were learning about thinking about your dreams and believing that you will achieve them and then they will be achieved if you try your best. Dot, the book, is a very good book because  it teaches you to try your best and it will be good enough. If you try your best, you will succeed.

An Unforgettable Day At School

Have you ever had one of those days at school that seem to just stick in your mind forever? Everyone does. Whether they are good memories or bad, you have at least one. Today, I will be telling you about one that I remember quite clearly from about three years ago. I will be telling you about my first volleyball practice.
When I was in the 4th grade all the girls got a note on their desks about volleyball practice starting soon. I brought the note home even though I really didn’t want to play volleyball, but my mom wanted me to.
One day after school I walked into the gym to go start practice. I saw was two older girls, Julia and Marissa, practicing.  They were having fun. They are top-notch players. I want to be able to play just like them ever since that day so I always try my hardest.
I started to really like volleyball; I enjoyed coming to practice every Tuesday and Thursday. When the season was over, I was sad. Ever since then I play volleyball every season and practice off-season. I became very involved with volleyball. I had so much fun it just seemed like all the problems in the world and my life vanished.

Now I play volleyball all the time and love it so much more. Volleyball has helped me physically, emotionally, and academically. Just remember, always go outside the limits and try new things. You never know, you may end up liking it!

My Bedroom Writing

Rosie Nelson
English 7 Period 2

                          My Bedroom

Here is my room, and when I walk into my room, the first thing I see is the three light purple pink colored walls, the other wall is dark purple and has a window with dark purple curtains. The next thing I see is my gray bookshelf. On the bookshelf is some of my favorite books and all of my sister’s books. on the bottom rows, my sister puts her clothes in containers and stores them on the shelves. My closet is full of all my shirts and leggings. On that same wall is a full length mirror. on the same wall as my book shelf is my black desk and chair. Right now it is full of clutter as well as the rest of the room because I just recently rearranged my room and haven't  finished cleaning it yet. On that wall there is also a shelf hanging. It’s full of all the little pottery things my sister and I have gotten over the years as presents. Next is my big white shelving that covers 3/4 of the wall its on. On the top two shelves, I keep all of my jeans, sweat pants, and shorts. On the next shelves down, I keep some of my perfumes and old glass coke and sprite bottles that my mom gave me. I also have a little glass dish that has a bunch of roses painted on it and on the edges it has gold color that my late great grandmother gave me. I have lotions and other things on the shelves too.

My bed is a black bunk bed. on the bottom are my sheets which have white, pink, purple, and black cheetah print bed sheet and a brown bed sheet too. I also have a baby blue color big blanket on my bed with a bunch of different colored pillows. At the foot of my bed, I have a quilt that my great Aunt Janelle made me when I was 5 that’s folded in half and placed at the foot of my bed. It’s pink and teal and has a few different words on it. I also have a little white stuffed dog up by all my pillows. I have had that ever since I was born and I used to take it with me everywhere I went. When I was little I would take it to stores and forget the stuffed animal somewheres. When we came back to get it, the clerks would be waiting for me to come get the dog because it happened almost every time we went shopping. With all the things I have in my room, I am rich beyond measure.
